Work out the final price after a discount and how much you save.
Sale signs are designed to look generous, but the number that matters is what you actually pay and what you actually save. This calculator turns any percentage off into a clear final price.
The final price is original × (1 − discount/100), and the saving is simply the difference between the two. An €80 item with 25% off costs €60 and saves you €20. Two discounts do not add up — 20% then a further 10% is a total of 28%, because the second applies to the already-reduced price.
It is handy during sales, for comparing offers, and for spotting when a "bigger" headline discount on a higher starting price is not really the better deal.
Multiply the original price by (1 − percent/100). E.g. €50 with 10% = 50 × 0.90 = €45.
They are not added; they apply one after the other. E.g. 20% then 10% equals a total of 28%, not 30%.
The calculation works with whatever price you enter. If the original price includes tax, so will the final one.
