Simplify a fraction and convert it to a decimal, percentage and mixed number.
Fractions turn a simple sum into a chore because you first have to find a common denominator. This calculator adds, subtracts, multiplies and divides fractions, then simplifies the answer and shows it as a decimal and a mixed number.
For addition it puts both fractions over a common denominator, combines the numerators, then reduces by the greatest common divisor. For example 1/2 + 1/3 = 3/6 + 2/6 = 5/6, which is about 0.833. Multiplying is simpler: multiply tops and bottoms, so 2/3 × 3/4 = 6/12 = 1/2.
It is useful for homework, cooking measurements, DIY measurements in inches, and anywhere exact fractional values matter more than rounded decimals.
Convert both to a common denominator, add the numerators, then simplify. The calculator does this automatically — 1/4 + 1/6 becomes 3/12 + 2/12 = 5/12.
A whole number plus a proper fraction, like 1 1/2 instead of 3/2. The calculator shows both the improper fraction and the mixed form so you can use whichever you prefer.
Yes, the result can be shown as a fraction, mixed number or decimal.
