How it works

How many hours did you actually work this week? The time card calculator takes your start and end times, subtracts breaks and gives you the net hours.

It correctly handles night shifts that cross midnight, and shows the hours in decimal form (e.g. 7.5 hours) to make payroll easy.

Enter an hourly rate and an overtime threshold and it also estimates pay, splitting regular hours from overtime.

Frequently asked questions

Does it handle night shifts?

Yes. If the end is earlier than the start (e.g. 22:00–06:00) it treats it as a shift crossing midnight and counts correctly.

What are decimal hours?

Hours as a number instead of hours:minutes — e.g. 7 hours 30 minutes becomes 7.5. Convenient for multiplying by an hourly rate.

How is overtime counted?

Hours beyond the threshold you set are charged at the overtime multiplier you enter.
